On April 4 and 5, 2008, IAPCHE (International Association for the Promotion of Christian higher Education) will host the 7th annual consultation of agencies involved in Christian primary, elementary, secondary, and higher education. Please note the dates and make plans to participate.

The consultation, co-sponsored by Alta Vista, a Seattle-based educational service organization, will be held at Bellevue Christian School in Bellevue, Washington.  Bellevue Christian School is located at 1601 98th Avenue, NW. The focus of the consultation will fall on international partnerships between institutions of Christian higher education, educational organizations and associations, and Christian schools at home and abroad. Among the key questions to be explored are the following: How do institutions of Christian higher education and educational organizations assist elementary and secondary education? What can we do to promote coordination and collaboration between agencies involved in serving emerging schools in developing countries? How can we foster closer relationships between schools in different parts of the world?

The session begins at 7:30 Friday evening, April 4, when the history and purpose of these consultations will be clarified. Delegates will share reports regarding ways that their agency is working to assist in the goals mentioned above. On Saturday morning, April 5, the agency reports will be completed. After lunch, we anticipate a brainstorming session. Participants will arrange in small groups made up of representatives of Christian higher education and persons engaged in elementary and secondary schooling. At the conclusion of the consultation, we will share ideas and prepare resolutions for future action.

Participation Fee

To help cover our costs, the fee is $30US per person for IAPCHE individual members and K-12 educators. This fee includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday as well as consultation materials. The cost for non-IAPCHE-members (who are not K-12 educators) is $65US per person, which includes the same features plus a one-year individual IAPCHE membership. Membership in IAPCHE situates the participants for continued networking after the consultation. Fees will be collected at the consultation. 

Accommodations

The consultation hosts have negotiated a discounted rate of $109US per night at the Sheraton Bellevue, 100 - 112th Street, Bellevue, WA. Shuttle service from the Seattle/Tacoma international airport is available for $20-$25 one way; the hotel offers complimentary transportation to/from Bellevue Christian School.
